Griffith Observatory...

During our recent visit to LA, we stopped into the historic Griffith Observatory atop Griffith Park. The observatory was recently renovated...but this was our first visit...so it was all new to us. The historic structure is bright and clean, and hidden beneath the front "lawn" is a buried new exhibit area.

Wasn't there a Star Trek: Voyager episode with Sarah Silverman where she was working in that observatory and Voyager got tossed back in time?

Wow. You've got me there, Curt. I don't remember that episode...but it wouldn't surprise me. Its an iconic observatory in LA and very close to Hollywood. Oh, and Leonard Nimoy has been very very active in its restoration...there is an auditorium named after him in the new section.

Nice photos. Love the space program shots. What's the story with the rock maze on the beach? Do you know where it came from or who made it? Is it permanent?
