These two gas stations are directly across the street from one another in SF. I took these photos as I was filling up this afternoon. (Good thing is a beautiful sunny day.) Now, some might say that the cost of a gallon at the Chevron station is outrageous enough, but what the heck is in the Shell gasoline? Sadly...or oddly...there was actually one customer over at the Shell station. How elitist of them. Perhaps their gasoline came in a champagne flute.

Maybe the shell is distributing gas via the metric system and that's the price for four liters? No? Then I got nothing.
There's a Shell and a Chevron on Rt. 29 in Arlington that, on occasion, will be almost 40 cents apart on a gallon of gas. This being Northern Virginia, there are people who think it's worth an extra 40 cents not to wait in line for cheaper gas. Perhaps it's nationwide corporate hijinks.
Well, I have paid extra in a pinch, but this seems a bit much :) Two blocks away, I passed another Shell station with nearly the same prices as the Chevron.
John, that one customer was actually on candid camera... you missed you chance...
